Giving back is a core part of who we are at Skyward Specialty. Our employees continue to show up for the causes that matter most to our communities, and this spring, that meant trading a Saturday morning off for a few hours in the woods at Bear Creek Park.
Trash Bash is the largest single-day waterway cleanup in Texas, held each spring to support a healthy Galveston Bay Watershed. Over its more than three decades, nearly 125,000 volunteers have collected more than 2,543.9 tons of trash from waterfront sites across the state. This year, Houston based colleagues joined the effort alongside their family and friends, working through the wooded areas of Bear Creek Park to clear debris and litter from their assigned section.
In addition to the day of service, the Skyward Foundation contributed $5,000 to Trash Bash as a platinum sponsor, marking the fifth consecutive year the Foundation has supported the initiative at that level.
From the volunteers who gave up their Saturday to the Foundation’s continued backing, this year’s Trash Bash is another example of what it looks like when our people put their values into action.
