Insurance Company’s Fundraising Efforts Aim to Support Children Affected by the Devastating Earthquake

Skyward Specialty Raises 25,000 Benefitting Unicef

Skyward Specialty, a leading insurance company known for its commitment to corporate social responsibility, has raised an impressive $25,000 in funds to support UNICEF’s relief efforts in response to the devastating earthquake that rocked the Türkiye -Syria region on February 6, 2023. The recent earthquake, which struck the border of Türkiye and Syria, has left countless families displaced, homes destroyed, and lives shattered.

Recognizing the urgent need to support the most vulnerable victims, Skyward Specialty ‘s Social Awarness, Inclusion and Diversity (SAID) team swiftly mobilized its resources and launched a campaign in partnership with the Skyward Foundation to raise funds for UNICEF’s relief operations. The Foundation agreed to make a donation of $5,000 and give $100 for every employee donation of $75 or more.

United by a common purpose, Skyward Specialty’s employees wholeheartedly embraced the fundraising efforts. During the course of the three week campaign, leadership sparked friendly comptetion challeging their teams band together to raise funds. The friendly rivalry sparked a sense of camaraderie and motivated employees to unleash their creativity and generosity.

The funds raised by Skyward Specialty suppored UNICEF, a renowned global humanitarian organization known for its expertise in addressing the unique needs of children affected by emergencies. The financial support will help UNICEF provide life-saving supplies, clean water, medical assistance, psychosocial support, and education programs to children affected by the Turkiye-Syria earthquake. For many years, UNICEF USA has received the highest charity rating marks for accountability and transparency Charity Navigator. In addition, it has a program expense ratio is 88.4% meaning they are a highly effective charity where for every $1 donated, 88 cents goes directly to the children they serve. UNICEF uniquely focuses on helping children and families in the wake of emergencies.

In the end, more than 30% of employees contributed $15,000 and in response to the overwhelming support, the Skyward Foundation agreed to increase their donation to $10,000. Collectively the campaign surpassed its goal, raising a remarkable $25,000 to support UNICEF’s crucial work on the ground.

This is the second time that the Company has partnered with UNICEF to make a difference in the communities that reach far beyond our local communities. In 2022, in response to the outbreak of war in Ukraine, the Foundation and employees contributed more than $76,000
