Every May, Skyward Specialty employees turn their attention to the men and women serving overseas, and this year marked a special milestone: 10 years of partnership with Boots For Troops.
During Military Appreciation Month, Skyward Specialty sponsored 10 American service members deployed around the world, continuing a tradition that has become a fixture of the Company’s giving calendar. Employees were challenged to help fill care packages for each of the sponsored service members, and the response was overwhelming.
Team members donated more than 300 items from service members’ wish lists, everything needed to bring a little comfort and connection to those stationed far from home. Employees who preferred to give monetarily had their contributions doubled through the Skyward Foundation’s Matching Gifts Program, and between the items donated and dollars raised, the campaign brought in $15,610.50 to support deployed troops.
Ten years in, Boots For Troops remains one of the clearest examples of what Skyward Specialty employees do best: show up for the people who serve, year after year.
